Winter holidays in South Tyrol: skiing, cross-country & much more

A winter full of possibilities right on your doorstep

Winter in Villa Ottone has its own rhythm. Snow on the roofs, meadows and mountains outside, crisp air, everyday noise gently muffled. A perfect time to get active – or simply to enjoy the peace.
Around the Anewandter, winter reveals its most pleasant side: authentic, uncomplicated, and just right.

Two ski resorts, and you’re right in the middle

Early out of bed, snow underfoot, mountains in sight – and a choice between two ski areas. Whether you’re sporty or simply enjoy a good mountain hut – around Anewandter you’ll find your ideal slope. Plan de Corones impresses with its size, variety, and modern charm. Skiworld Ahrntal is smaller, more traditional, with breathtaking views. Two ski areas, two vibes – and in between, one place that connects both: the Anewandter. Your ski hotel in Val Pusteria.

Steady rhythm.
Snow-covered landscapes.
Long cross-country trails.

Cross-country skiing on holiday is winter at its most peaceful. Just a few kilometres from Villa Ottone, towards Valle Aurina, you’ll find well-maintained trails through snowy meadows and woods. For more variety, head to the neighbouring valleys of Anterselva and Casies – true cross-country paradises. Even the Nordic Arena in Dobbiaco with its many routes is only half an hour away by car.
And when your legs have done enough for the day: time for our new wellness haven. There, warmth, tranquillity and your well-earned break await.

Sledging fun the way it should be

Tobogganing simply belongs to winter – especially here in Valle Aurina.
Thanks to its snow reliability, the region is perfect for natural toboggan runs that are truly enjoyable: for families, sporty types, or anyone who still loves this joyful winter sport.
It’s best with a bit of effort: hike up, stop off for something warm – and then race down the valley together.
A winter moment like it used to be. Only better.

On quiet paths through the snow

Sometimes a great winter doesn’t need pistes. Just fresh air, clear thoughts, and the right path beneath your feet.
Whether on foot or with snowshoes – around the Anewandter, numerous winter trails lead through snowy meadows, open woods and enchanting landscapes.
Those who want to go higher will find beautiful ski touring routes in Valle Aurina too.
Always the same rule: no noise, no rush – just your own rhythm. And winter, up close. Still looking for the perfect winter hike or ideal ski tour? You’ll get the best tips right here in Villa Ottone!

Winter adventures for all ages

When the snow settles outside, things become especially magical for families. Tobogganing, winter walks, building snowmen – the Valle Aurina is made for little winter escapades.
And during Advent, it’s not just the lights that sparkle: the Christkindlmarkt in Brunico is a real highlight, while the Tauferer Advent near the Cascate di Riva is a peaceful insider tip.
Simply head out, discover, enjoy – and return in the evening to the warmth indoors.
