Monika & Martin – our M&M secret
For more than 30 years they have been walking through life hand in hand – both privately and professionally. Monika and Martin, our “M&Ms,” are not only the hosts at Hotel Anewandter, but also a well-rehearsed team leading around 25 employees. Their story began back in their teenage years – friendship turned into love, and love into a shared life journey.
But what is their secret? How do they manage to work together harmoniously for so many years, not only as a couple but also as business partners?
Martin laughs and often teases his “Moni.” For him, humor is essential:
“If you can laugh together, even the most stressful day loses its weight.”
Monika adds with a smile:
“For me, it’s important that we always meet on equal footing – whether as a couple or in the daily hotel life. We know we can always rely on each other.”

And what does this have to do with the famous M&Ms candies? Quite simple:
• Colorful like life – Every day brings new shades and facets, and that’s what makes it exciting.
• Sweet at the core – Just like the chocolate inside the candy, Monika and Martin carry warmth and kindness at heart.
• Inseparable – Whether at the hotel or in private life, the two simply belong together.

We also asked Monika and Martin a few personal questions:
What do you love doing most in your free time?
“Without a doubt: going out to eat! We love trying new restaurants and getting culinary inspiration.”
And where do you like to go on vacation?
“We prefer the beach. For us, there’s nothing more beautiful than having our feet in the sand, listening to the sound of the sea, and finally relaxing without any appointments.”
What do you wish for the future? Monika and Martin look at each other and almost answer in unison: “Of course, good health! That’s the most important thing. But even more, we wish to grow old together – with lots of fun, even more laughter, and the joy we already share today.”
Our conclusion
As hosts, business partners, and as a married couple – Monika and Martin are the best example that friendship, respect, and humor are the sweetest ingredients for a lifelong partnership.
